Getting Support
Need information about:
- The initial steps?
- The obligations and laws in Quebec?
- Different ways to homeschool?
- The available resources?
Whether you are a member of AQED or not, you can benefit from the support of our volunteers. We’re here to answer your questions and help you get started with your homeschooling project.
In Case of a Dispute
AQED encourages a positive and constructive attitude in your relations with the Direction de l’enseignement à la maison (DEM) and with your school board or school service center. It is beneficial for both parties if this relationship is one of exchange and respect, with the common goal of our children’s well-being.
However, there may be times when you find yourselves in a situation of conflict and can’t find common ground.
Count on an Active Community Presence
Teaching at home doesn’t mean being isolated. You’ll never be left on your own with AQED. One of our missions is to create networks to bring together parent-educators in Quebec. Sharing experiences in the community is enriching for everyone.
Facebook Groups
We suggest you join AQED’s English and French Facebook groups to talk to other families facing challenges similar to your own. You can also join local support groups for homeschooling families.
Regional Support
Each region of Quebec has an AQED representative. They are volunteers whose mission is to help homeschoolers in their area. Regional representatives are familiar with the specific issues in their sector. They can therefore advise you accordingly and give you access to AQED educational materials.
