Who are we ?
AQED is a non-profit, secular organization. Its decisions and actions are based on facts and scientific research results related to learning, home education and the well-being of children and their families.
Forms
We collect certain personal information through forms on the website. The information shared through these forms is stored in our database for a period of 6 months. This data is also sent to us by email in order to follow up with you. You can request that this data be transmitted to you and/or that it be deleted (see the section “The rights you have over your data” below for more details).
Medias
If you upload images to our site, we advise you to avoid uploading images with embedded EXIF GPS coordinate data included. Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from these images.
Cookies
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be automatically deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. The lifespan of a connection cookie is two days, that of a screen option cookie is one year. If you check “Remember me”, your login cookie will be kept for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.
Some cookies are used to understand how visitors interact with the website. These cookies help provide information on metrics such as the number of people visiting the site, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. These cookies are collected by companies such as Google Analytics, Facebook and X. You have the option to refuse their use in the cookie acceptance bar appearing at the bottom of our site during your first visit.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Storage durations of your data
For accounts that register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their profile. All accounts can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Site managers can also view and edit this information.
The data you enter in our forms is kept for a period of 6 months.
The rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we have about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of personal data concerning you. This does not include any data stored for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
The data provided through our forms is stored on our server physically located in the greater Montreal area.
