AGM Summary & Annual Report
AQED’s 2024 Annual General Meeting took place on June 2. We would like to thank all members who attended, asked questions and shared their opinions.
Below is a summary of the meeting:
Committees
The annual report has been adopted , and we invite you to check it out for more details about our activities over the past fiscal year.
Two motions of congratulations were adopted unanimously, one for the support team and one for the team that worked on the lawsuit.
Aspirations
We presented our 3 main aspirations for the coming year:
- First, we aim to diversify our sources of income. Since the last grant awarded to us in 2018 by the Liberal government, our income has come almost entirely from membership fees.
- Second, we aim to offer more services to our members. This includes, for example, planning more video conference sessions to help members fulfill their obligations to the DEM.
- Third, we aim to put pressure on the government by working closely with a public relations firm. Although we have chosen to halt the current lawsuit, we will not give up defending the rights and interests of educating families!
Steve Boissonneault Award
Each year, this award is presented to a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to AQED.
This year, the award was presented to Marine Dumond, our outgoing president. Marine has been an AQED volunteer since 2018 and has been involved in many spheres of AQED. She helped start the AQED center and was on the Board of Directors from 2019 to 2024 as president. She is also a volunteer on the Political and Public Action Committee, and was deeply involved in every step of the lawsuit against the Ministère de l’Éducation.
We thank her for sharing her expertise with AQED, for being a unifying and inclusive president, and for giving countless hours of her time to serving AQED’s mission.
Election
This year, 6 positions were up for election, 4 for a two-year term and 2 for a one-year term.
Your Board of Directors is now composed as follows:
- Gabriel Guimond-Prévost, President (Elected at AGM 2024 for his 1st term) 1-year term

Drawing
By attending the Annual General Meeting, members had a chance to win a ticket to the Homeschooling Conference on September 7.
The drawing was held after the meeting, so we’re announcing the grand prize winner now. Congratulations to Stéphanie Chartrand D.!
